Job Summary

We are seeking a semi skilled and reliable Labourer to join our busy steel fabrication company. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out general duties to support the fabrication team and management. This role requires a proactive attitude, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills within a steel workshop environment, contributing to diverse projects across the building sector.

Responsibilities

Assisting with delivery/site preparation, including loading and unloading materials Supporting tradespeople by cutting/drilling steels in readiness for collection Carrying out general labouring tasks such as moving materials and maintaining a clean and organised workshop/yard to ensure safety standards are met Operating basic machinery and tools as required (training provided), following safety protocols. Operating overhead crane (training provided) following safety protocols. Carrying out basic paint spraying/rolling of steel components (training provided) following safety protocols. Adhering to all health and safety regulations at all times to minimise risks.

Experience

Previous experience within the steel industry or related manual labour roles is preferred. A general knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to the steel industry or a workshop environment is preferred Ability to operate basic tools and machinery safely is desirable Strong physical fitness with the capacity to perform manual tasks over extended periods Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately A proactive approach with a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour
