Semi-Senior / Senior Accountant

Sudbury

A long-standing accountancy practice is looking for an accountant at Semi-Senior or Senior level who can contribute to year-end accounts work, statutory audit assignments, tax compliance and general business support. The position offers exposure to varied clients and provides scope to build experience across different service areas.

Role Responsibilities

Prepare and review accounts for a range of clients, covering different business types and organisational structures. Assist with statutory audit work and contribute to maintaining compliance with relevant standards. Support business planning and advisory tasks, helping to identify useful financial insights. Contribute to VAT, taxation, payroll and CIS processing as part of the wider team. Maintain positive working relationships with clients across multiple sectors. Use the firm's software and systems to deliver work efficiently and accurately. Provide support and guidance to more junior team members where needed.

Personal Requirements

Fully or part-qualified ACCA/ACA, or equivalent experience within a UK practice environment. Background in accounts preparation, audit, tax or related compliance work. Confident using accounting software (experience with Sage, IRIS or similar is beneficial but not essential). Strong organisational skills with consistent attention to detail. Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and clients. Willingness to support others and continue developing professionally.
