We are looking for someone to join our amazing team this September! We run early intervention and pre school sessions for children aged 2-4 in the mornings and afterschool sessions for children age 4-12 years In the afternoons. All the children attending SEN Space are diagnosed with SLD and complex needs.
Your role is two fold. In the mornings you will be supporting the teacher in delivering the preschool curriculum in a class of 8 children. In the afternoons, you will looking after children on a 1:1 basis or a small group of children with a range of additional needs between the ages of 4-12 years.
The hours for this position are Monday to Friday 9-5, or 10-6. The applicant will have to provide two working references, a clear medical declaration and Access NI, and Early Years vetting and clearance by the South Eastern Trust before starting. The start date is 1st September, but clearance and checks normally take 4-6 weeks, so the start date maybe delayed until middle of September
Interviews will be carried out next week and staff notified within 24 hours of interview if they have been successful or not.
Applicants need a level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent.
The initial contract is 10 months fixed term, but we are looking for people who want to stay and grow with our organisation long term.

- Assist in the care and supervision of children in the sessions
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for the children
- Engage in age-appropriate activities and play with the children, meeting all their educational, social and additional needs.
```Experience```
- Previous experience working with young children with SEN preferred
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and co-workers
- Patience, compassion, and a nurturing attitude towards children
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
