: 40 per week 8:30-5pm

Salary

30,000 - 50,000 annually

About the School

Odyssey House School is a Primary and Secondary independent school, on a clear trajectory to outstanding, educating children and young people who have a history of chronic anxiety, school avoidance and refusal as a result of previously traumatic experiences in their learning environment. Some children many have additional and complex learning needs. We provide a small nurturing and teaching environment (5-6 pupils per class) and personalise subject delivery to meet individual pupil needs.

We are looking for a qualified SEN Food Tech Teacher who is dedicated and passionate about helping children with additional needs to achieve their personal best. The right candidate will:

Have UK QTS with SEND experience A proven record of experience planning and teaching students with Autism To be able to differentiate work to students depending on their need and abilities. Inspiring and engaging and developing the sensory engagement and social skills of children with profound & multiple learning difficulties. Assessing individual learning needs Assessing and reporting on individual pupils progress. IEP- write, monitor and discuss with therapists, parents and senior leadership Liaising with the Head to ensure that all mid and long term targets and tracking data are accurate A good understanding of the national curriculum You will be conscientious and enthusiastic at all times You will be positive and motivational Dedicated and a team player A creative approach to lesson planning A patient, calm and engaging classroom manner

The role

As a SEN Food Technology Teacher, you would be planning and delivering lessons, differentiated to meet the individual needs of the children. The curriculum you would be delivering is aimed to provide an inclusive, supportive and challenging environment for the children and encourage them to actively participate in their learning. Students have a diagnosis of Autism, together with associate Learning Difficulties. Detailed job description will be provided to applicants interested in the role.
