SEN Nanny Housekeeper - Full time - Live In - Cambridge

Specialist childcare combined with structured household support.
A SEN Nanny Housekeeper is sought for a family near Cambridge. Looking after a 7Twins G and B with a speech delay.
The role requires a calm, patient professional who can balance nurturing childcare with efficient domestic duties and work closely with parents to support the child's development and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
SEN Childcare Duties

Provide specialist care for a child with SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, global delay, learning differences, sensory needs, behavioural needs). Follow therapeutic, behavioural, communication, or medical plans set by parents or professionals. Support daily routines including emotional regulation, coping strategies, and positive behaviour management. Use communication tools such as PECs, Makaton, AAC, or visual timetables as required. Assist with personal care, daily living skills, and independence-building activities. Plan structured, developmentally appropriate activities and sensory play. Accompany the child to school, therapy sessions, appointments, or community activities. Provide regular updates to parents on progress, challenges, and routines.
Housekeeping Duties

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe home environment. Manage laundry, ironing, and children's wardrobe organisation. Keep bedrooms, playrooms, and sensory areas clean and well-structured. Ensure the home remains calm, structured, and predictable to support the child's needs.
Skills & Attributes

Strong SEN experience with understanding of autism, ADHD, sensory profiles, or behavioural needs. Patient, calm, emotionally grounded, and resilient. Excellent housekeeping standards and organisational ability. Skilled at balancing childcare and domestic tasks with good time management. Confident with routines, visual supports, and structured environments. Warm, kind, and engaging with children; adaptable to their communication style. Clear communication with parents and professionals. Discreet, trustworthy, and committed to safeguarding and confidentiality.
Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 3 years' experience working with children with SEN. Experience in private households, SEN settings, or early years environments. Enhanced DBS check (required). Paediatric First Aid. SEN-related training preferred:
o Autism awareness
o ADHD training
o Makaton / PECs
o Behaviour management
o Sensory integration awareness

Strong housekeeping experience. Driving licence often preferred.
