Job Description


Your role as a SEN Teacher will be to educate children and young people who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will ensure you put each individual at the centre of their learning journey. You will deliver creative and unique learning to meet the additional needs of pupils you teach. You will be working with children and young people aged 11-19 years old within a outdoor setting in Newark. You will work Monday - Friday 08:30am-15:30pm.

You will teach and deliver the lessons to either small nurture groups or 1:1 with a pupil. This allows students to have the best education experience and engage in their learning. You must be able to build trusting relationships with both pupils and other professionals within the school.

Requirements of the role:

  • Be calm and patient in your approach
  • Experience working with Autistic individuals
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to teaching outside of the classroom
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Previous experience working with children who are disengaged with their education
