Contract Type :Fixed term contract Job ID: 1497621 A fantastic opportunity has become available to join a passionate team of staff in a rewarding department working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in KS3 and KS4. We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable Teaching Assistants to join us in creating an outstanding department who strive for educational excellence for all students with SEND at Oasis Academy John Williams, we have various opportunities, which include Fixed term and being linked to funding. The successful candidates will be a passionate and driven individual with good communication, creative, practical and organizational skills, and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our students and their communities.

As a team, we will create opportunities for students to become all rounded individuals. The department has great links to within the community and wider OCL and is a great place to facilitate collaborative working.


The successful candidates will support students with additional needs in KS3 and KS4 to ensure they make progress in all areas of the curriculum and school life. Oasis Academy John Williams is a thriving secondary school located in Hengrove, South Bristol, serving just over 880 students aged 11-16. Our student population is 84% White British, 22% SEN, 43% Disadvantaged and 32% FSM. We are proud to be the school of choice for so many in our local community and we have been heavily over-subscribed for the past seven years.

We are housed in a modern new build [new build opened in September 2010] with a host of subject specialist rooms and in December 2016 we further enhanced our facilities with a state of the art AstroTurf and tartan-running strip. There are currently five Oasis secondary academies in Bristol (John Williams, Brislington & Brightstowe, Daventry Road & Temple Quarter. Our local family of schools forms part of the South West Region of Oasis Community Learning (OCL). OCL is a Multi-Academy Trust comprising 54 academies, working across England in five regions.
