Seashell Trust provides care and education for children and young people with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairments, communication disorders, and autism. Our Outstanding Royal School Manchester supports students aged 4-19, each following an individualised Seashell curriculum. You'll be part of a dynamic team including Teachers, Therapists, and other SEN Teaching Assistants, working in a highly specialist, multi-sensory learning environment.
We're recruiting enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join our Outstanding school team. You'll support students with complex needs to thrive, helping us deliver high-quality education and care.
The Successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
Support students with complex communication and educational needs
Assist in planning and delivering engaging, individualised programmes
Work one-to-one with students across classroom and physical activities
Support students with Autism, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities
Provide intimate personal care and mobility support (e.g. hoists, wheelchairs)
Foster independence, communication, and social skills
Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant role:
Experience in care or education settings (desirable)
Understanding of complex needs, learning disabilities, autism, sensory impairments
Ability to support challenging behaviour
Empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills
Enthusiasm and a commitment to positive outcomes
