A well-regarded and unique SEN school set in beautiful Wiltshire countryside is seeking a dedicated
SEN Teaching Assistant
to join their passionate team. Housed in a characterful manor house with a recently developed new site, the school provides a holistic, student-centred approach to learning, including therapeutic activities like animal care and outdoor gardening.
This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September -- ideal for someone with genuine compassion for pupils with special educational needs, including autism and PMLD.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs
Assist in delivering personalised learning plans aligned with EHCPs
Support behaviour regulation strategies and promote a nurturing environment
Encourage independence, communication, and social-emotional development
Help supervise pupils during unstructured times like lunch and play
Support personal care needs while maintaining dignity and respect
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience supporting children with SEN, especially severe autism and PMLD
Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and learning
Confidence working in a multi-disciplinary team
A passion for making a real difference in children's lives
Desirable:
Experience in an SEN school setting
