Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated

SEN Teaching Assistant

with

proven experience working with children or young adults with SEN

to join our supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will provide

1:1 support

and assist in

small group settings

, helping students to reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide

individualised support

to students with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning needs. Work closely with the

class teacher and SENCO

to deliver tailored interventions and support strategies. Foster a

positive and inclusive learning environment

, encouraging student engagement and confidence. Assist with the development and implementation of

Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

and

behavioural strategies

. Support students in both

academic and social development

, helping them to build essential life skills. Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of individual students and facilitate their understanding. Provide

pastoral care

and emotional support, ensuring students feel safe and valued. Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers, parents, and relevant professionals.

Requirements:



Previous experience

working with children or young adults with SEN in a school or similar setting is

essential

. A

relevant qualification

in education, childcare, or SEN support (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children with diverse needs. Strong

communication and teamwork skills

to work effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals. A commitment to promoting

inclusion, equality, and the well-being

of all students. Knowledge of

safeguarding procedures

and a willingness to undergo relevant training.
