We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educators in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for children. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities and autism, and possess strong communication skills. This role involves assisting in classroom management and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) to cater to the diverse needs of a child. Lots of training will be given on the job to help with supporting this child.
Duties
Assist the lead teachers to engaging the child in activities and indivudalised currciulum within the classroom.
Support students with developmental disabilities and autism by implementing tailored strategies for their learning needs.
Foster a positive classroom environment through effective behaviour management techniques.
Collaborate with educators to develop curriculum materials and lesson plans that meet the educational goals of the child.
Provide one-on-one support to the child during classroom activities and assessments.
Help maintain a safe and organised classroom setting conducive to learning.
Communicate effectively with children and staff regarding child's progress and needs.
Participate in training sessions related to special education practices, including IEP development and implementation.
Engage in early childhood education practices that promote childhood development through play-based learning.
Qualifications
Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferable.
Background in special education or early childhood education is preferred.
An understanding of childhood development principles and classroom management strategies.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to create an inclusive learning environment.
Experience with Montessori methods or preschool environments is advantageous.
