Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in Maidstone?

We are currently recruiting for a

dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant

to join a

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in Maidstone

on a

long-term supply basis starting in September 2025

.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual who enjoys supporting children with a variety of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs Assist the class teacher with planning, delivering and adapting learning activities Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social skills Promote a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment Deliver personal care support when required Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and external agencies

Essential Skills & Experience:

Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role Understanding of Autism, ADHD, and other additional learning needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude Relevant TA qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) - desirable Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
