area is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team in September to support pupils with additional needs. This is a full-time role offering the chance to work closely with staff and pupils across various age groups within the school.
About the Role:
The role involves supporting pupils in EYFS, KS1 or KS2 who need extra help to access learning and participate fully in school life. Support may be provided on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Needs may include autism, speech and language challenges, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. You'll assist with learning activities, classroom routines, and pupil wellbeing under the direction of teaching staff and the SENCO.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow structured support plans and adapt strategies to meet individual needs
Help implement EHCPs and targeted intervention programmes
Contribute to a calm, safe, and focused learning environment
Assist with daily classroom tasks and transitions throughout the day
Monitor pupil progress and share updates with relevant staff
Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, ideally in a primary school
A calm, practical, and consistent approach to behaviour and learning support
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and classroom expectations
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or SEND-related training) are helpful but not essential
