A primary school in the

Retford

area is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs starting in September. This full-time role involves working alongside teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning and develop key skills.

About the Position:

The role focuses on providing one-to-one and small-group support to children with a range of needs, such as autism, speech and language difficulties, ADHD, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You will assist in delivering strategies tailored to individual learning plans and help pupils remain engaged and confident in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver targeted support based on individual pupil needs Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and specific interventions Encourage a calm and supportive classroom environment Liaise regularly with teaching staff, SENCO, and families Promote pupil confidence, independence, and social development

Requirements:

Experience working with children with additional needs, preferably in a primary setting Calm, consistent, and empathetic approach Good communication and teamwork skills Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and behaviour strategies Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or SEND-specific training) are beneficial
