About the Role:
You will be working as part of a dedicated team supporting pupils with a range of complex Special Educational Needs. Your role will involve working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support to individual pupils, helping them access learning and achieve their potential in a safe, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs
Use
Makaton
to support communication and learning
Assist with the implementation of EHCP targets
Support pupils with emotional regulation, social interaction, and personal care where necessary
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external agencies
The Ideal Candidate:
Has
previous experience supporting children with SEN
in an educational setting
Is
proficient in Makaton
and confident using it in a classroom environment
Has a calm, patient, and nurturing approach to behaviour management
Holds relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualifications, or equivalent) - not essential, but desirable
Is committed to inclusion and passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs
