SEN Teaching Assistant



Part Time to commence Sept 2025 - Fixed term for 12 months



(ideally over 5 mornings, but we can be flexible for the right candidate)

To be paid at NJC Band C Scale Point 5 12.85ph (39 weeks per year)

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The ideal candidate will have proven experience supporting children with ASD in a primary school setting and demonstrate a strong understanding of strategies that promote engagement, communication, and emotional regulation.

You will be part of a supportive team, with access to ongoing CPD and guidance from external professionals to ensure the pupil's statutory needs are fully met.We are looking for an individual with a strong, sensitive and nurturing approach to children's needs, who can be flexible, communicate effectively and think creatively. You will need to show a high degree of initiative and be solution focussed.

- Have excellent literacy and numeracy skills;

- Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents;

- Be energetic, positive and enthusiastic;

- Be able to use your own initiative when required

Ideally, you should already have a good knowledge of all key stages and early years including phonics, but training will be provided otherwise, plus literacy and numeracy to GCSE A-C or equivalent. You would need to be flexible, as you will also be required to undertake the role of part time Meal Time Assistant.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
