We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a SENCO and in room dedicated support for our SEN children for morning work 8-2pm Mon - Fri. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality educational support to children, particularly those with special needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, speech therapy, and behaviour management, ensuring that each child receives the attention and guidance they need to thrive.
Responsibilities
Deliver engaging activities in tailored to the needs of each child.
Implement speech therapy techniques and applied behaviour analysis to support children's communication skills and behavioural development.
Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to enhance learning outcomes for children with special educational needs.
Utilise effective communication skills to collaborate with parents, educators, and other professionals regarding children's progress.
Manage classroom behaviour through positive reinforcement strategies and behaviour management techniques.
Conduct proofreading of educational materials to ensure clarity and accuracy before use in the classroom.
Create a nurturing environment for toddlers and preschool-aged children that promotes their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Requirements
Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
Familiarity with special education strategies and techniques is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children and adults alike.
Experience in teaching or tutoring subjects such as maths or physical education is an advantage.
Knowledge of behaviour management strategies to support diverse learning needs.
A background in mentoring or providing childcare will be beneficial.
