Special Educational Needs and Disability Information Advice and Support Service (SEND IASS) are a team who offer impartial, confidential and free information, advice and support for parents and carers and children and young people around issues relating to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to support them up to the age of 25.
We are looking for a SEND Advocacy Worker to join our team on a
fixed term basis, until July 2026.
As this is a fixed-term post, secondment opportunities will be considered for internal employees. Please obtain prior approval from your current line manager before completing the application. For further information, please refer to the councils secondment policy.
About the role:
You will be an advocate for parents/carers of children and young people with SEND
You will provide impartial advice and support to help families navigate education, health, and care systems
You will need to build strong partnerships across schools, the Local Authority, and voluntary organisations.
What were looking for:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
Knowledge and/or experience of SEND
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A positive, collaborative approach.
