Job Description

We are seeking a committed and passionate

Lead SEND Learning Practitioner

to play a pivotal role in our specialist SEND Hub and across the wider school environment. This is a unique opportunity to lead, implement, and support the learning journey of pupils with specific complex needs.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and Deliver Tailored Learning

: Develop and deliver structured learning for pupils with complex needs within the SEND Hub and mainstream classes.

Support and Accompany Pupils

: Provide hands-on support for identified pupils, ensuring consistency across learning environments.

Observe and Inform Best Practice

: Monitor interventions and teaching strategies, contributing observations to continuously improve provision.

Implement Bespoke Provision

: Create and adapt teaching strategies, resources, and curriculum content (including the EYFS and National Curriculum) to suit individual needs.

Timetable and Inclusion Planning

: Coordinate personalised timetables and design inclusive learning programmes.

Progress Monitoring and Data Analysis

: Maintain detailed records of pupil progress and use data to shape planning and delivery.

Collaborative Feedback

: Share insights and feedback with class teachers and senior leaders to inform practice and provision.

Annual Reviews and EHCP Support

: Play a key role in the preparation and contribution to annual reviews and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) assessments and reports.

What We're Looking For



Experience working with pupils with complex SEND needs, preferably in a hub or specialist provision. Deep understanding of differentiated teaching approaches and the SEND Code of Practice. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with teaching staff, families, and external professionals. Organised and reflective, with a strong ability to manage time and priorities effectively. A caring, resilient, and flexible approach to supporting diverse learners.
