SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant?SEMH Specialism

36.66 Hours per week, 39 weeks per annum

Grade 6 SCP 23-27 (34,434 - 38,220) (to be pro-rated to hours worked)

The Harmony Trust has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and successful practitioner to join our Inclusion Team. The successful candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of the SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant Role with specialism in working with pupils with SEMH. You will support provision within an Inclusion Hub, providing excellent learning opportunities to pupils with SEND. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a highly inclusive team that are developing specialist provision in a mainstream setting.

The postholder will initially be deployed to the Inclusion Hub within Alvaston Junior Academy. There may be opportunities to work across our Derby academies as part of the Harmony Trust Development Team.

We welcome applications from excellent practitioners who have:

An NVQ3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience Excellent classroom practice and are able to lead a room and adapt provision to meet need. Experience and expertise in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, including strategies for self-regulation and resilience. Experience in delivering bespoke, nurturing curricula for pupils who may be working below age-related expectation and require personalised learning pathways. The ability to support and develop communication-friendly and emotionally supportive environments. The ability to adapt provision for pupils with SEND and EAL, ensuring inclusive and high-quality learning experiences. The ability to share learning with others, helping colleagues to develop their skills and understanding
