Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate male SEND Tutor to support a Y3 boy, 1:1. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with young people with autism and have up-to-date Team Teach training. This role requires expert understanding of the needs of young people with SEND, excellent communication skills and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment including liaising with parents/carers and other professionals.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of student. Provide individualised support and tutoring to ensure enjoyment and progress. Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating atmosphere that encourages learning and growth. Collaborate with colleagues, parents/carers, and other professionals to ensure child's learning needs are met. Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback. Maintain accurate records of student achievements and behaviour. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge. Commitment to having the student's welling and welfare at the heart of all interactions.

Qualifications

/Skills/Attributes

Proven experience in working with young people with SEND, Strong understanding of effective strategies to support self-led learning behaviour. Training in Team Teach or similar. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with parent/carer, and colleagues. A relevant teaching qualification or degree in education is preferred but not essential for the right candidate. A genuine passion for education and a commitment to safeguarding and ensuring the wellbeing of the young people we work with.

Pay: 35.00-40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
