We have an exciting opportunity at our Openshaw Campus to join our Supported Learning Department as a SEND Support Practitioner on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week), term time only (39 weeks) basis.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Minimum Level 2 Learning Support qualification, or willingness to achieve within an agreed period
or
Minimum of a Level 2 Specialist support qualification (or willingness to achieve within an agreed period)
Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
Willingness to work towards a secondary specialist support area at minimum Level 2
Communication Support Practitioners require a minimum level 3 British Sign Language qualification
Dyslexia Support Practitioners require a minimum level 3 supporting Learners with Dyslexia qualification
Experience of supporting young adults in an education environment
Experience and knowledge, empathy and understanding of the specific issues relating to the education of young people and adults who have sensory, physical impairments or other specific learning difficulties
Application of specific reasonable adjust of learning materials and learning environment, such as technical resource modifications and accessibility to meet individual learner needs
Fully adhere to and accountability of college policies with regard to working intimately with vulnerable learners, such as but not limited to the college Safeguarding procedures, Personal care policy and Administration of medicine policy
Good knowledge of specific assistive technology or specialist software in supporting learners with SEN/D
Experienced and competent in the use of IT systems, such as Microsoft Office Suite
