SEND TEACHERPosition: SEND TeacherLocation: BarnetContract Type: Full Time, Long TermStart Date: ASAP / SeptemberSalary: Scale Point Rate xc2xa3750 xe2x80x93 xc2xa31,250 / weekDo you possess the kindness, patience, and creativity needed to thrive as a successful SEND Teacher?Working in SEN is incredibly rewarding and demands innovative thinkers who can look beyond disability labels to uncover each childxe2x80x99s potential and love for learning.We are working with an OFSTED-rated xe2x80x98Outstandingxe2x80x99 Special Needs School for children aged 4-19 years in Barnet, for an immediate or September start.At our ever-growing school, youxe2x80x99ll address four broad categories of need: communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, as well as sensory and/or physical needs.Education and training in Special Needs are essential. The school is well-resourced, providing excellent support for both staff and students, alongside outstanding CPD opportunities.Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an Overseas Teaching Certificate recognised by Naric
  • Experience of working with students with SEND within a mainstream or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) setting
  • A patient and understanding approach
  • A flexible approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Existing DBS check on the update service
  • Experience of PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Rapid Prompting Method and other relevant augmentative and alternative communication approaches are advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver effective lessons which cater to the needs of individual EHCP plans
  • Be responsible for all assessments relating to class students
  • Be aware of, and remain responsible for all safeguarding of pupils within your care
  • Work collaboratively with both teaching and support staff to ensure best outcomes for students
  • Foster independence in students and promote well-being and good welfare
