90 - 105 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role:



We are currently working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Newport that is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026 for the remainder of the academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with EHCPs, autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to provide tailored support in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities and differentiated instruction Foster a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating environment Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff and parents as required Promote positive behaviour and social interaction

Requirements:



Experience working with children with SEND in a school or childcare setting A calm, patient and empathetic nature Strong communication and interpersonal skills A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, CACHE, or similar) desirable but not essential
