This long-term opportunity offers part-time and full-time options -- ideal for parents who want to work during school hours and still be there for the school run.
The Role
You'll be joining a vibrant, nurturing classroom made up of Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils with a range of additional needs. Some are non-verbal and use alternative communication such as Makaton or picture symbols, and the curriculum is designed to be active, creative and sensory-led.
Your day-to-day will involve:
Supporting pupils with communication, play and learning
Assisting with sensory activities, outdoor learning and messy play
Working closely with a team of TAs to create a calm, inclusive classroom
Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Helping pupils build confidence, independence and a love of learning

Qualifications in Teaching Assistance, Social Care or Childcare are welcomed but not essential -- the right attitude matters most.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 3.30pm (term time only)

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense?Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
