Synergy Education are recruiting SEND teaching assistants in Falmouth.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support educational programmes specialising in working with children, including those with autism and disabilities. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to inclusive learning environments, assisting teachers and fostering a positive experience for all students. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in special education and experience working with children, particularly in settings involving toddlers and individuals with diverse needs.
Duties
Assist classroom teachers in delivering tailored educational activities for children with special needs, including autism and disabilities
Support individualised learning plans, ensuring each child's unique requirements are met effectively
Provide one-on-one assistance to children, fostering their social, emotional, and educational development
Help supervise children during classroom activities, breaks, and outings to ensure safety and engagement
Support toddlers with care routines and early learning activities in a nurturing environment
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to promote understanding and collaboration
Assist in preparing educational materials and organising classroom resources to facilitate smooth lesson delivery
Contribute to creating an inclusive, supportive atmosphere that encourages participation and confidence among pupils
Skills
Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or special educational needs
Knowledge of working with people with disabilities and understanding of inclusive education principles
Prior experience in toddler care is advantageous
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude towards children of all abilities
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude
