The Role
We are urgently recruiting a committed, patient, and nurturing
Teaching Assistant
to provide
1:1 SEND support within KS1
.
This is a
long term, permanent role
directly employed by
Vara Sports and Education
, not a day to day supply position. Consistency is essential, and we are looking for someone who can build a strong, trusting relationship with the child and school staff.
You will work
full school days (8:30am-3:30pm)
in one of our partner primary schools in
Ellesmere Port
, supporting the pupil to access learning, develop independence, and build confidence.
Salary & Contract Information
Permanent, term time only role paid on an
annualised salary
Salary for this academic year is based on the remaining weeks of the academic year and spread evenly across the months to ensure stable monthly pay

September 2026
, this role moves onto a
full annual salary
, covering the full academic year plus paid school holidays
Essential Qualities
Experience supporting children with SEND (1:1 experience preferred)
Calm, patient, and consistent approach
Confidence supporting learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation
Positive, resilient, and child focused
Strong communication skills with staff, parents, and professionals
Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
Commitment to long term consistency
Key Responsibilities
1:1 Pupil Support
Build a positive, trusting relationship
Provide consistent 1:1 SEND support
Support access to learning and daily routines
Promote independence, confidence, and engagement
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Follow guidance from the SENCO and class teacher
Support for Teaching Staff
Adapt and prepare resources where required
Provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO
Follow SEND, behaviour, and safeguarding policies
Work collaboratively with staff and external professionals
Support for the School
Help maintain a safe and structured learning environment
Support class based needs when required
Maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection policies
