We're working with a forward-thinking
specialist autism provision in Ealing
, seeking a skilled
SEND Teaching Assistant
to join their team. This is a full-time role supporting pupils aged 4-19 with a diagnosis of autism and a range of learning abilities. The school is fully wheelchair-accessible, well-resourced, and committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environment.
You'll be working either in the main school or potentially supporting learners in their
Post-16 site
, where young people focus on life skills, independence, and tailored educational pathways.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting autistic learners 1:1 or in small groups with differentiated tasks
Helping students engage with communication, sensory integration and structured routines
Assisting with personal care, transitions and calming strategies when required
Working collaboratively with class teams, therapists, and parents
Maintaining consistency and providing a stable, nurturing presence
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a SEND or autism-specialist school or provision
Strong knowledge of autism, PECS, visual supports, or sensory-based learning
A calm and patient nature - someone who can hold space in challenging moments
Confidence in using positive behaviour strategies (Team Teach training is a plus)
Commitment to long-term, full-time work and a passion for inclusion
