About the Role



We are seeking a

SEND Teaching Assistant

to provide

1:1 support for a young child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and physical needs

. This role involves both educational support and physical care, ensuring the child can access learning safely and comfortably.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist with

personal care

, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene routines Support

mobility needs

, including hoisting and positioning, following physiotherapy plans Implement communication strategies such as

PECS

,

Makaton

, or

British Sign Language

(desirable) Promote independence and engagement through adapted resources and assistive technology Work closely with parents, teachers, and therapists to create a consistent support plan

What We're Looking For



Experience supporting children with

ASD and physical disabilities

Confidence in providing personal care and using mobility equipment (training provided) Knowledge of communication systems (PECS, Makaton, BSL) desirable Patient, adaptable, and proactive individuals who can respond calmly to challenges Strong teamwork and communication skills
