Senior Accountant (Qualified) (Central London)

Role



The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the professional work required on a range of accounts and tax jobs meeting all internal, client based and legislative deadlines.

Ideal start date -Immediately available/available on short notice

Duties include:



Core:



Managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring that their accounts and tax affairs are kept up to date and filing deadlines are met

Assisting clients with tax planning, business advisory and ad hoc projects

Assisting both internally and externally with technical points, with support of company resources and contacts

Assist in preparation of Accounts, tax returns, management accounts, cashflows and forecasts where necessary

Being a key point of contact for your portfolio including face to face meetings with clients and liaison with HMRC

Desirable:



Assisting junior staff in their professional development and review of their work

Proactively manage budgets and time reporting, ensuring accurate and timely recording of billable hours and adherence to agreed-upon budgets and timelines.

Foster strong client relationships by consistently delivering excellent client service, maintaining professionalism, and effectively communicating findings and recommendations.

Assist with internal operations where required, reconciliations, targets, growth and strategy of the firm

Responsible for ensuring that the firm's standard processes are used in the production of accounts work in all aspects and for ensuring that technical standards are maintained

Representing the practice by attending network functions & events.

Attending CPD courses to maintain knowledge of Tax and Financial regulations

Experience

:

Required:



Part AAT/ACCA qualified

Previous experience as Senior Accountant managing a portfolio within an accounting firm.

Experience of completing private company accounts and tax computations, with knowledge of current accounting standards and disclosure requirements in accordance to FRS102A and FRS105

Experience of tax legislation in all areas, including Corporation tax, VAT and income tax

Ability to deal with technical queries end-to-end using resources and contacts available

Desirable:



Knowledge of Taxcalc and Xero

Strong Excel and Microsoft office skills

Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Good organisation and time management skills

Proactive thinking and attention to detail

Experience of preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts for clients in a timely manner with feedback to clients.

Exceptional communication, negotiation and client relationship management skills with a collaborative approach.

Ability to provide guidance/training to junior staff members.
