Metlen Energy and Metals is seeking an Senior Accountant to support our M Renewables Division in the UK. This position will report to the Finance Manager UK, The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for renewable energy.



Your Role Will Encompass:


Oversee and perform day-to-day accounting activities, including raising sales invoices and processing supplier invoices. Supervise and support junior team members as required. Prepare supplier payments, monitor receipt of customer payments, and reconcile bank statements across multiple entities. Produce accounting analyses and reports as needed. Prepare revenue projections and forecast overhead expenditure when required. Assist the Finance Manager and Controllers with the preparation and monitoring of budgets. Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts. Support the Finance Manager with annual audit activities. Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance. Ensure accurate preparation of VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory returns under the guidance of the Finance Manager and external advisors. Contribute to the development and implementation or improvement of ERP systems at Country level (e.g. SAP, XERO) and related processes. Carry out other accounting duties and provide support to junior staff internal/external accountants and tax service providers) as required.

What You Bring to the Role:


Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) qualification, or equivalent (ACCA/CIMA), preferred. 7+ years of accounting experience. Good working knowledge of tax laws and IAS/IFRS, in particular IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IAS 7, IAS 16, IAS 21, IAS 23, IAS 24, IAS 38, IFRS 9 Solid accounting and tax compliance skills. (VAT, withholding tax, CIT, etc.) Strong financial analysis and management accounting skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel. Experience with SAP and other accounting software. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
