The Role



We're looking for an experienced, commercially minded accountant who wants to do more than deliver compliance.

As a Senior Accountant at Upscale, you'll own a portfolio of limited company micro-businesses and manage the full client relationship end-to-end. Alongside delivering high-quality accounting and tax work, you'll play an active role in shaping our business, software, processes, and client experience.

This role offers real autonomy, clear ownership, and the opportunity to influence both product direction and how accounting is delivered to make an impact.

What You'll Do



Own client relationships - Act as the dedicated accountant for your portfolio, building trusted, long-term relationships Deliver year-end accounts - Prepare and review FRS 105/FRS102 accounts and CT600s Manage compliance - Oversee VAT returns, payroll, and self-assessment tax returns Provide proactive tax advice - Use software-driven insights to deliver timely, value-adding advice. Review team output - Review work produced by junior team members, maintaining consistently high standards. Improve how we work - Drive continuous improvements across workflows, reviews, and client communications

What We're Looking For



Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or AAT qualified Relevant experience - Strong background working with limited companies and small businesses Technically strong - Confident across UK accounting standards, corporation tax, VAT, payroll, and self-assessment Clear communicator - Able to explain complex financial concepts simply and confidently Tech-curious - Interested in accounting technology and excited by building better systems UK-based - Right to work in the UK required, Values collaboration in an office environment.
