The company:

We are a thriving firm of Chartered Accountants with 25 staff. Established over 70 years, we are a well-respected practice, offering accounting and taxation services to a wide range of clients.

Based in the centre of Ripon, we are looking for a new member to join our accounts team.

The job role:

The full-time office based role includes the following:

-To work within the accounts team preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies with a particular focus on farming and agricultural clients.

- Preparing associated income, partnership, and corporation tax returns.

- Preparing tax computations and advising clients on tax issues.

- Supporting the directors on more complex assignments.

- Supporting and advising clients on a range of accounting and taxation matters.

The candidate:

It is essential that you have experience of working within an accountancy practice and ideally with knowledge of accounting and tax matters for farming and agricultural clients.

Ideally you will be familiar using SAGE, Xero, QuickBooks, Farmplan (preferred) and IRIS (preferred), along with being proficient in using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

The candidate should be well organised, have strong communication skills as they would be working with the directors of the practice and dealing directly with clients, as well as being able to work as part of a team.

Hours:

Full time role, with 24 days holiday plus bank holidays. Staff incentives include overtime pay, pension contributions, generous sick pay, regular staff events.

Salary:

Salary commensurate with experience.
