Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accounting Associate to join a reputable accountancy firm.

  • Assisting the managers with a growing client portfolio, as well as carrying out all accounting work for a wide range of profit-making organisations and charities in accordance with the firm's and statutory procedures. This will include overseeing the planning, executing, completing and producing client-ready product independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Review management accounts, statutory accounts, and VAT returns for a wide range of organisations in compliance with the firm's and statutory procedures.
  • Take ownership of implementing accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero) for clients.
  • Provide training and support to the trainees within the team.
  • Delegating, supervising, and reviewing the work of junior members of the team, providing constructive feedback and support as necessary, including being involved in development of junior staff.
  • Deliver training sessions for junior members of the team throughout the year and provide the manager of the team with innovative adaptations to accounting methodologies to improve efficiencies.
  • Provide general accounting services and assistance to clients in the preparation of accounts and VAT returns, for example preparing working papers for management or statutory accounts.
  • Recommend improvements to clients' accounting systems and controls and assist clients whenever needed.

  • ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • 120 UCAS points from 3 A-Levels as well as Level 6 (B) in GCSE Maths and English Language
  • Experience of working within an accountancy practice
  • Client facing experience
  • Experience of reviewing statutory and management accounts and VAT returns for corporates
  • Experience supporting and training junior team members
  • Experience of delivering or operating cloud solutions
