Highclere Castle Enterprises LLP has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accounts assistant to join our team and be part of a prestigious and globally recognised business.
The ideal candidate will be a bright, hands-on, highly motivated individual who has experience working in a busy accounts office and is able to hit the ground running. He/she must have the ability/flexibility to work to tight deadlines, have sound knowledge of general accounting procedures and processes.
The role would suit someone who is AAT/ACCA qualified or a finalist.
The Role:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Daily bank reconciliations on SAGE 200 and Access database
Oversee Purchase Ledgers for two entities including weekly payment runs
Monthly & quarterly VAT returns
Maintenance of Debtor and Creditor reports
ONS Surveys & other statutory reporting obligations
Preparation of fortnightly and monthly payrolls
Month end close activities (depreciation, accruals & prepayments journals, Balance Sheet Reconciliations)
Assisting with the preparation of Financial Accounts
Processing customer refunds and vouchers
Ad hoc projects and duties as required
Key attributes:
Strong accounting knowledge including double-entry bookkeeping
High level of numeracy and accuracy
Intermediate Excel skills to include Pivot Tables and VLookups
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to prioritise and work on own initiative
Adaptability to learn in-house software system
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Previous experience in a similar role
