Position: Executive Officer

Locations: Glasgow, Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Newcastle (must be within 75 mile radius from one of these locations)

Salary: \xc2\xa314. 50 per hour

Assignment: Temporary 6-month

Hours: 37 hours per week, full-time, Monday to Friday

Work from Home: May be required to go into the office, ideally once a month on a case-by-case basis

Brook Street in partnership with the Home Office has a fantastic opportunity to join their existing team of Executive Officers delivering critical, high-impacting work for some members of society.

You will be working within the case working teams to provide appropriate support in decision-making, administration, requesting information, creating digital files, liaising with other departments, stakeholders and authorities to obtain operational updates including decisions made, and adapting to changes within their structures. You will be providing authorities with the relevant information on a case-by-case basis to help support decisions made.

The ability to work calmly under pressure and making decisions are essential, you will need to be emotionally resilient and capable of multi-tasking.

Day-to-day duties:

  • Decision-making - Supporting colleagues with complex queries and escalations where necessary.
  • Being proactive in keeping up to date with the most relevant policy and guidance
  • Exhibit excellent organisational and mailbox management skills
  • Taking responsibility for your own development needs, maintaining and building your knowledge of policies and processes
  • You will need to hold a good understanding of IT and Microsoft Office as you will be required to maintain accurate records of the movement of files, progression of cases and other ad hoc reports
  • A high standard of data quality will be expected
  • Ensuring case files are decision-ready for casework, appeals or removal processes

Training:
  • 6 weeks training
  • no block holidays during the training period
  • You will be supported, coached, trained and mentored within a substantive departmental structure that will enable you to become skilled, disciplined and equipped to provide substantial value to a wide range of teams and services
** You will be required to undertake security clearance for these roles, and it is imperative that you hold a valid passport and be able to provide two proofs of current address and a proof of national insurance document. **

Start dates will be confirmed once we have had clearance back but will be expected to be around November.
