About the role
Are you ready to make a real difference in safeguarding children across Northamptonshire? As part of the Safeguarding & Quality Assurance Service (SQAS), you'll play a vital role in supporting our frontline teams who work tirelessly to protect and advocate for children.
You'll be based at either One Angel Square, Northampton or William Knibb Centre, Kettering, giving you flexibility in where you work. In this role, you'll support the Team Leader by managing a dedicated team of administrators who provide essential support to Independent Reviewing Officers and Child Protection Chairs.

What will you be doing?
You'll play a pivotal role in our service, keeping operations running seamlessly behind the scenes
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing resilient administrative support to senior managers across all SQAS functions.
Coordinating the Business Support Team's activities, monitoring workloads, allocating tasks, and ensuring projects are delivered on time.
Managing and developing your team, from delivering effective inductions to coaching, mentoring, and driving performance to achieve SMART outcomes.
Ensuring systems and procedures for the Business Support Team are in place and adhered to.
Promoting new ways of working and technology, identifying training needs and supporting staff development.
Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with Data Protection and Freedom of Information principles.
Providing cover for the Business Support Team Leader when needed, ensuring continuity and high standards.

About you
You're a natural leader who thrives on bringing out the best in people. Ideally, you have experience supervising a team and know how to manage quality and productivity effectively.
You have excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise under pressure.

You maintain a child-centred approach, ensuring all sensitive information is managed with the utmost care and professionalism.
You demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build positive working relationships.
You have strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Confident using coaching and mentoring skills to support team development.
You are educated to GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
