The Soft Commodities team at the Intercontinental Exchange is responsible for the operations and development of the London Cocoa, Robusta Coffee, White Sugar and UK Feed Wheat contracts. The team ensures that the certification, storage and transfer of commodities for the London contracts are processed in accordance with Exchange Rules, and work with market participants, internal stakeholders and regulators to maintain and develop the terms of those contracts. As a member of the team you will be involved in all aspects of operations and product development, and be expected to pitch-in wherever necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute effectively to all aspects of the operations of the ICE London soft commodity contracts.
Oversight of the proprietary systems IFEU Guardian and the Softs Deliveries Platform for inventory, warehousekeeper and delivery management.
+ Manage numerous administrative tasks including maintenance and development
+ Input in development of system for new contracts, enhancements, testing and signoff
+ Incident reporting and resolution
+ Drive system training for new users or new product release
+ Biannual review of users Run the physical delivery process; engage with other ICE functions to ensure orderly deliveries
Handle client enquiries; identify, manage and build customer relationships
Draft written communications for internal and external release
Visit/inspect/audit warehousekeepers when required
Undertake project work as and when required
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Proven experience with clearing operations for physically deliverable futures contracts
Experience of Exchange clearing systems
Experience in Cocoa, Coffee, Sugar or Grains would be an advantage but not essential
Educated to a degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good knowledge of Microsoft package especially Excel and PowerPoint;
Strong analytical and organizational skills with acute attention to detail
Position will involve some travel and work outside of normal business hours
