Information Services Division (ISD) is the primary provider of IT services to UCL. We support and enhance learning, teaching, research and administrative processes by providing information- and technology-related services to over 50,000 staff and students of UCL and associated institutions.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Moodle Developer (Senior Analyst Developer) to join the Core Teaching Platforms product team within the Digital Education domain of the Information Services Division (ISD).
This role will be working within a multi-disciplinary agile product team of Moodle Developers, Analyst Developers (Ops), Learning Technologists, UX designer and Tech Leads to develop UCL's Moodle.
The team values being part of the open-source Moodle community, providing feedback and fixes upstream wherever possible to new plugins and to core Moodle.
This role will be responsible for writing and maintaining clean, secure code and software configuration, adopting a test-driven approach, and ensuring software is easy to use.
About you

The ideal candidate (Senior Analyst Developer) will be someone who has developed a variety of plugin types for Moodle, contributed to Moodle core, a great team player, with strong analytical skills and high levels of attention to detail.
Key requirements:
You will need to have a strong working knowledge of software development lifecycle stages, application software design including the design of multi-tier solutions, data structures, security, user interfaces and web services, developing software applications using modern tools and advanced techniques.
Knowledge of and support experience with video content management systems used for education, specifically Panopto.
Knowledge of Moodle, its site administration, and its integration with third party platforms through LTIs/plugins.
Moodle development experience desirable.
