London, Bradford or Petersfield. Occasional travel to other offices may be required.

The Role
Join us in shaping the future of lending by supporting the evaluation and integration of alternative data sources into affordability and credit risk strategies across Loans, Vehicle Finance, and Credit Cards. This role offers the opportunity to assess open banking transactional data and contribute to smarter, data-driven lending decisions. You'll play a key part in helping us extend credit to underserved UK customers, grow our market share, and optimise profitability--all while ensuring positive customer outcomes. With a strong analytical foundation, you'll drive innovation through test-and-learn initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure our strategies are effective, well-communicated, and aligned with our risk appetite.

As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you will:
Investigate and develop new data sources to be used for affordability analysis and decisioning.
Contribute to discussions and challenges that help inform the development of Responsible Lending policies and strategies.
Develop expert understanding of the customer management lifecycle, including all aspects of decisioning and customer touch points.
Perform in depth reviews of customer affordability, providing insight and giving recommendations for credit strategy updates.
Be 'customer-obsessed' and have the appetite to understand our customers, how they behave, and provide insight that helps the business make decisions that positively impact the customer.
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and external regulatory frameworks and ensure that the principles of responsible lending are upheld in line with the Group's Responsible Lending Policy.
Support business growth and portfolio profitability by balancing risk, reward and responsible lending, whilst controlling credit quality and performance.
Ensure lending decisions are accurate and appropriate through close tracking and monitoring
Perform inquisitive and innovative analysis and provide logical recommendations resulting in customer and /or business benefits
Deliver complex analytical/data driven projects fully incorporating Customer and business implications throughout
What We're Looking For
2+ years experience in a Credit Risk analytical role is essential
Proficient in SAS, SQL, or Python.
Experience in analytical tools such as SAS VA or PowerBI.
Ability to interpret data and develop meaningful insight which can support and drive decision-making.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Experience working to a high level of detail and accuracy
Knowledge of Retail Consumer Lending products such as Credit cards, Loans, Overdrafts or Mortgages.
