A Belfast-based, design-led studio is seeking a Senior Architect to take a leading role in delivering a broad mix of adaptive reuse, residential, healthcare, and hospitality projects across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. This is a strategic position offering real influence on both project direction and studio growth.
About the Practice
This is a focused, collaborative team committed to creating beautiful, buildable architecture that respects context, embraces sustainability, and enhances everyday life. The studio specialises in adaptive reuse and low-impact design, delivering high-quality outcomes across sectors including heritage, hospitality, healthcare, and private residential.
The team is based in the heart of Belfast's Cathedral Quarter and is steadily growing with purpose, creativity, and a people-first mindset.
The Opportunity
You'll lead projects across all RIBA stages, mentor junior staff, and work closely with clients and consultants from early concepts through to delivery. This is a hands-on role where you'll be trusted to manage your own workload and contribute meaningfully to the development of the practice.
Current projects include:
The transformation of a 17th-century estate into a boutique hotel, restaurant, and cultural venue
A luxury timber-framed apartment scheme
Expansion of a popular hospitality venue in the Mournes
High-end residential commissions in conservation and listed settings
Healthcare decarbonisation projects in live environments
A growing number of retrofit and reuse projects throughout NI and ROI
What We're Looking For
Qualified Architect with minimum 3 years post-Part III experience
Strong design ability and technical competence across all RIBA stages
Confident leading projects and managing client relationships
Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Genuine interest in sustainability, placemaking, and adaptive reuse
Willingness to mentor junior team members and support their development
Full UK or ROI driving licence and access to own transport
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience delivering projects in ROI and knowledge of BCAR
Familiarity with healthcare or conservation-led design
Strong visual communication skills, including sketching
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, or InDesign
