We are looking to recruit a Senior Architect, to further expand our Building Design teams in Newcastle.



This opportunity would ideally suit someone looking to work in a multi disciplinary collaborative environment where they will be given the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and to take real responsibility throughout the full design lifecycle. Our teams work on a number of projects across sectors including education, regeneration, commercial, transport, energy, defence, as well as heritage and urban redevelopment. Our breadth of work across these sectors means there are plentiful opportunities to gain vast amounts of experience as well as offering the opportunity to find your niche! Responsibilities:

AtkinsRealis offers Senior Architect the opportunity to be a part of exciting projects working with a national and global network of creative individuals all with the share aspirational goal of design excellence. The role would be idea for those looking to take ownership of multiple projects to run from concept through to delivery whilst including managing a small team of assistants. o Our primary focus is to ensure our architects are challenged towards professional growth within a new team, exposing Architects to the multi-discipline environment and client facing opportunities. o To manage and inspire a team through strong and inclusive leadership.



Sustaining and developing relationships with existing and new clients. o To ensure design responses are pragmatic and respond to the client brief whilst respecting the opportunities and constraints that each site affords, through climate, context and culture. o To continue to develop designs that are firmly rooted with a strong narrative and that seek to enhance our reputation. o Lead projects by providing design and technical leadership for major projects. Reporting on activity and analysis of feedback and success factors. o Development of the design culture and capability of our multi-disciplinary design team(s). Requirements for this grade: o The ideal candidate will have a RIBA Part 3 qualification, be ARB registered with demonstrable 5-10 years' experience on wide range of complex projects at different stages with a good understanding of the UK Building Regulations. Experience should range across different sectors working directly with the client, contractor and multi-disciplinary design teams.

Experience in Education, Health and Public sector building preferable. o The desired individual will understand the design process and have the ability to deliver this from concept into detail design, understanding how to identify and design key details, through to completion. o Understanding detail for compliance requirements e.g., building regulations and working knowledge of UK Building Systems, Regulations and construction types will be required for this role. o We are looking for individuals who can consistently contribute to the successful delivery of projects with varying levels of complexity and ranging in size from small, medium and large-scale.



Consistency and accuracy in all work produced is highly desired for this role. o The candidate for this roll will be required to take responsibility for specific roles, areas or packages of work with within a project and recognise the importance of the project budget and seeks to develop their knowledge of project finances. o Supporting and mentoring staff though Part 1 and 2 is fundamental to this role. Coaching junior staff on projects and reviewing work to help drive the design quality and output.



The personal qualities required from the applying candidate should demonstrate Strong interpersonal skills, organised and efficient with attention to detail. Ability to work effectively, efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines. o Flexible approach to working with a positive and 'can-do' attitude, self-motivated and committed individuals who can be both clear thinker but have the willingness to be a strong team player and support the Studio lead o Highly skilled and passionate designer committed to deliver design excellence at all stages of the design and construction process. o Understanding of the design process, and ability to deliver this from concept and planning application through to construction and completion. Be proficient using design software, specifically looking for experience with Revit, Adobe suite, Enscape or V-Ray and AutoCad. o Understanding and working knowledge of UK Building Regulations, understanding of NBS specification and construction methodologies will be required for this role. o We are looking for individual who can consistently contribute to the successful delivery of complex, small, medium, and large-scale projects. o The candidate for this roll will be required to take responsibility for specific roles, areas or packages of work with within a project and recognise the importance of the project budget and programme.

The individual should seek to develop their knowledge of project financials. o The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in preparing high quality written design deliverables and in preparing and giving presentations to clients and stakeholders. o The ideal candidate will have experience of understanding and leading multidisciplinary design work, including managing and coordinating specialist designers and consultants where appropriate. o We are looking for an enthusiastic new member to work with our existing team and Studio Lead o Business Development is required in this role.



Have a proven track record of developing client relationships and securing new business opportunities. o Be creative in their approach. o Have the ability to lead bids and opportunities across our markets. o Be engaged with the successful delivery of secured projects.
