The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect to lead and support architectural design across a range of technically complex projects and proposals. You will play a key role within multi-disciplinary project teams and, when required, act as Design Lead or Discipline Lead, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant architectural solutions aligned with client and regulatory requirements. This role reports to the D&E Head of Design and involves close collaboration with project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Provide competent, high-quality architectural services to Scitech-EKIUM and its clients Work as part of multi-disciplinary design teams, leading projects or work packages when required Lead and coordinate architectural design activities across internal disciplines and third-party designers Act as Architectural Discipline Lead and/or Design Lead on assigned projects, and Project Lead on smaller schemes where appointed Plan, manage and monitor architectural design resources to meet project scope, cost, programme and quality requirements Produce and manage architectural deliverables lists, ensuring early clarity and completeness Ensure compliance with company quality procedures, contract requirements, regulatory standards and best practice Support project planning, progress reporting, earned value tracking and change management Lead and participate in design risk assessments and ensure ongoing review and mitigation Contribute actively to design reviews including Quality, Safety, Compliance, GxP, Constructability, Commissionability, HAZOP, Value and Risk Provide guidance, mentoring and technical support to architectural design team members Assist with quality audits and ensure company quality systems are embedded in all design work Promote continuous improvement, innovation and efficiency within architectural design practices Support business development activities, including proposal development and technical presentations Attend client, supply chain and construction sites as required

Experience & Skills

Chartered or Registered Architect with current UK registration Strong experience delivering architectural design within multi-disciplinary project environments Demonstrable experience leading architectural teams and coordinating across disciplines Commercial awareness with the ability to deliver projects within agreed budgets Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials and products Experience working within regulated environments and complex project settings Proficient in BIM and CAD design tools Strong working knowledge of NBS specification software Ability to provide overall design leadership when leading projects Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills

Qualifications

UK Registered Architect (Chartered status preferred) Commitment to ongoing Continuing Professional Development, including health, safety, CDM and Building Safety Act requirements
