Senior Asset Analyst

What you'll be doing:?
The purpose of the role is to effectively manage IT assets throughout their entire lifecycle, including hardware, software, cloud infrastructure and digital assets. This includes tracking and maintenance to ensure that all assets are used effectively with business needs.
You will be required to:
Policies, procedures Collaboration
Considering Group IT standards, create and maintain policies and procedures for the acquisition, maintenance and disposal of IT assets
Ensure that the approved asset lifecycle policies are followed by staff, providing guidance and training
Ensuring that all projects have appropriate input for management of assets and configuration items.
Asset Lifecycle
Ensure that administration of the acquisition, storage, distribution, movement and disposal of assets is carried out
Ensure the accurate creation and updates of all records in the CMDB
Ensure CMDB is utilised and updated as part of all relevant operational processes
Provide user support, training, and documentation for the CMDB to system users.
Support the IT teams in the issuing of new IT hardware and software, and the retrieval of unused hardware back into stock
Ensuring that stocks of hardware and software are secure, stored in an orderly fashion, are promptly ready for re-use and correctly recorded in the CMDB.
Responsible for audit and control of asset movements. Liaising with suppliers and local teams to manage loan hardware and returns/recycle of equipment
Coordinate the correct disposal of IT equipment, adhering to WEEE standards and the information security policies and best practices.
Periodic replacement of IT assets at the agreed end of life.
Ensure the group software asset management tooling is fully implemented in the UK; utilising the SAM tooling monitor software licensing compliance
Reporting
Regular running of performance and analysis reports and rectification of any issues that they highlight
Production of management analytics for Asset governance
Production of CMDB breakdown reporting (e.g. models by site/business unit, usage/state reports)
Identify end of life IT assets and maintain a forward schedule of end-of-life assets enabling sufficient time to replace or retire from the IT estate.
Analysing the IT Asset inventories, to understand where assets are not being used effectively and to identify opportunities for improvement.
Provide a financial view of the IT Assets, enabling financial planning, ensuring the IT Asset costs are clearly visible, to support the on-going management and forecasting of the IT Asset budgets
Identifying non-compliant hardware and software
What you'll need to have:?
Excellent communication, collaboration and facilitation skills.
Logical, self-motivated, flexible and able to manage change.
Strong analytical skills; able to extract insights & actions from large amounts of data
Strong Technical skills with a commitment to continually develop these.
Good understanding of Cyber Security principles
Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
Work to deadlines and project timelines.
Carry out other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required across the service.
Ideally knowledge of Service Now CMDB, Xensam Xupervisor and Power Bi
