Job Description

On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Senior Asset Engineer - Compliance (Inside IR35) for a 6 month hybrid contract based in Stratford.

As a Senior Asset Engineer, your main responsibilities will be to:



Lead, manage and report on the asset stewardship and inspection of operational property building assets in accordance with asset policy and technical strategy. Lead the engineering analysis and risk assessment of maintenance and renewals schemes. Lead the review of proposals from other asset groups or external organisations that impact on maintenance or renewal activity, identify potential synergies and develop optimised plans as applicable. Monitor trends in maintenance and renewal work, asset condition, failure and failure precursors. Confirm that appropriate action is specified to predict and prevent similar failures. Provide engineering support and participate in investigations of incidents relating to building assets. Lead and participate in engineering verification activities. Identify compliance weaknesses and undertake assurance reviews.

Essential:



Proven ability to manage client-side delivery of examination programmes, acting as budget holder and ensuring internal delivery meets objectives. Experience interfacing with regional teams for assurance and leading compliance projects to meet regulatory and organisational standards. Capability to structure plans, manage milestones, and maintain alignment across stakeholders, effectively operating as a project manager. Skilled in monitoring progress against targets, producing accurate reporting, and ensuring transparency and accountability across programmes. Demonstrated experience in line management or team leadership, with the ability to motivate and coordinate diverse teams. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to drive delivery under pressure and maintain compliance with targets.
