Brief Description

Lead and manage the maintenance and renewal of the route operational property building services and depot plant assets to deliver Network Rail\'s goals. Provide engineering expertise on building services maintenance and renewal matters.

About the role (External)

Key Accountabilities -

1. Lead and manage the asset stewardship, inspection, and compliance of operational property building services and plant assets in accordance with asset policy and technical strategy.

1. Make recommendations for repair and renewal works and assist with the development and management of prioritised route maintenance and renewal workbanks and plans. Determine asset condition to identify and validate renewal proposals.

2. Lead the production of maintenance and renewal remits and their inclusion in the workbank. Oversee the development and implementation of schemes to verify whether requirements are sufficient, correctly interpreted and delivered. Specify and monitor the implementation of control measures where proposed works are deferred.

3. Act as sponsor for complex and specialist maintenance and all renewal schemes. Discharge all sponsor\'s accountabilities in accordance with corporate policy.

4. Lead the engineering analysis and risk assessment of maintenance and renewals schemes during the early development phase, in compliance with Network Rail\'s standards and procedures. Develop business cases for maintenance and renewal schemes, where appropriate.

5. Lead the review of proposals from other asset groups or external organisations that impact on maintenance or renewal activity, identify potential synergies and develop optimised plans as applicable.

6. Monitor trends in maintenance and renewal work, asset condition, failure and failure precursors. Confirm that appropriate action is specified to predict and prevent similar failures.

7. Provide Mechanic and Electrical (M+E) engineering support and participate in investigations of incidents relating to building services and plant maintenance and renewals.

8. Lead and manage the reporting of tenant lease non-compliance and the monitoring of tenant dilapidations with particular reference to building services and plant.

9. Develop and implement processes to maintain records relating to the existence, configuration, modification history of building services and plant assets.

10. Provide period and quarterly reporting to Route and Regional Directors, with specific focus on Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) actions.

11. Manage Assets Engineers in both East Midlands and Anglia Routes.

12. Lead on all Level 1 assurance ensuring M+E standards and regulations are maintained and upheld.

Essential

\xc2\xb7 Incorporated Services Engineer

\xc2\xb7 Membership of relevant professional institution

\xc2\xb7 Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject

\xc2\xb7 Substantial relevant experience of operational property engineering

\xc2\xb7 Comprehensive knowledge of policies and standards relating to operational property

Desirable

\xc2\xb7 Chartered Engineer

\xc2\xb7 Member of relevant professional body

\xc2\xb7 Broad understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques
