Cardio Respiratory at the Queen's Hospital Burton is a busy diagnostic department. University Hospitals of Derby and Burton comprises of our main sites; the Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton, as well as community hospitals and three CDC hubs also serving our community.
We are looking for a Cardiology trained, Senior Assistant Physiologist (band 4) with experience in the following: Assisting in exercise tolerance testing; including myocardial perfusion testing, head up tilt table testing; including active stand and autonomic function testing, 24/48 hour ambulatory ECG analysis, event recorder analysis as well as routine non-invasive diagnostic procedures including but not limited to ECG, ambulatory ECG and ambulatory BP. Experience in editing MUSE would be advantageous. The post holder is also required to support the pacing team in facilitating pacing transfers from other hospitals.
Applicants should hold the Certificate in Electrocardiography and have a minimum of 18 months experience working as an Assistant Physiologist in Cardiology performing a range of non-invasive diagnostics.
This post will be based at the Queens Hospital Burton however rotation to Royal Derby Hospital, as well as our CDC's will form part of the working week.
Main duties of the job
Working with adults and paediatrics in a range of in and out patient settings performing non-invasive cardiac diagnostics as well as supporting the Clinical Physiologists makes up the majority of the role.
Analysis is also a key component as well as training and assessing staff from around the Trust in 12 lead ECG recording.
You will be required to help with any administration duties as required within Cardiology services.
Applicants will be expected to study and sit the Award in Electrocardiography within the first 6 months of appointment. Eighteen months experience working as an Assistant Physiologist is vital.
