Job Description

The assistant psychologist will be a member of the Physical Health Psychology team.



They will work patients who live with a range of long-term health conditions in North Cumbria; this post clinically will focus on the Neuropsychology pathway.



The post holder will also support the triage of inbound referrals to other pathways, with supervision and training.

The Assistant will support the team in terms of:

? Supporting the clinical psychologist with their clinical activities



? Assessments, formulations, and interventions for patients referred to the department.



? Carrying out Neuropsychological testing, under the supervision of the Clinical Psychologist



? Scoring tests



? You will have opportunities to co-facilitate group therapies such as cognitive rehabilitation and an online psychoeducation course.



? Developing the use of online technologies



? Developing patient materials



? Supporting the running of patient groups



? Helping to develop audit protocols and undertake Audit data collection for the service



? Developing training materials



? Gathering, analyse and present outcome data from clinical work



? Supporting the development of psychology services



There will be opportunities to gain some experience in other areas of health psychology alongside this work.

The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for New to registration Nurses Midwives and Allied Health Professionals.
