Senior Associate - Construction & Engineering Disputes (6+PQE)
Location: Manchester, Birmingham or Cambridge (hybrid working)

We are partnered with a top-tier global law firm to recruit a Senior Associate into its highly regarded Construction & Engineering Disputes team, which sits within one of the largest Litigation practices worldwide.
The Role
You'll work on significant, complex matters--well beyond "business as usual"--with real responsibility and client exposure.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting for national and international clients, particularly in Energy, Infrastructure, and the Built Environment
  • Advising strategically on major projects and the avoidance and resolution of disputes
  • Managing your own matters, supervising teams, and mentoring junior lawyers
  • Playing an active role in business development and the strategic direction of the team
  • Collaborating across national and international offices and wider practice groups
The Team
  • Part of a top 10 global Litigation practice, recognised by The Lawyer Global Top 50, Global Investigations Review Top 100, and Global Arbitration Review Top 30
  • Construction & Engineering disputes specialists working closely with transactional colleagues
  • Experts in large-scale projects, dispute avoidance, and high-value, complex disputes
  • Acting for clients at the top end of the supply chain: governments, public bodies, major multinationals, and leading contractors
About You
The firm is keen to speak with candidates who have:
  • England & Wales qualification with 6+ years' PQE
  • Strong experience in contentious construction and engineering matters
  • Excellent technical skills across construction and engineering contracts
The ability to:
  • Interpret contracts pragmatically and commercially
  • Navigate complex legal arguments and explain them clearly to clients
  • Develop dispute avoidance and resolution strategies aligned with client objectives
  • Lead disputes through adjudication, litigation, and arbitration
