Senior Associate - Insurance - Edinburgh or Glasgow

DWF LLP is seeking to recruit a Senior Associate with experience in defender personal injury work to join the nationally recognised general insurance team, based in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

The role will involve working on a mix of casualty, disease, EL/PL and RTA claims. We will consider applications from candidates with strong academics who have some post-qualification experience of handling personal injury litigation and experience of working within a busy commercial environment, handling a varied caseload. We are seeking team player with strong communication skills and attention to detail.

We are also seeking a candidate who is familiar with working in a commercial environment from either a defendant or claimant background.

On a daily basis this will include:

  • Ensuring, in conjunction with the Partner, that cases are progressed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Ideally, have experience of handling defender or pursuer personal injury claims.
  • Strong technical ability to include a thorough grasp of principles and case law and topics.
  • Working with our valued and long-standing clients to understand requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practice.
  • Prioritising work effectively and maximising efficiency in working practices
  • Building stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
  • Developing your technical and commercial knowledge via training or working practices.
